What are cookie files?

Cookie files are information technology data, in particular text files, which are stored on the Website User’s terminal device and are designed for use while our Website is being browsed.

Cookies usually bear the name of the Website that they come from, the information on how long they are to be the stored on the device and a unique number. Cookie files are sent from the Website and stored on the Website User’s device by the Website (www.handjet.pl) operator, EBS Ink-Jet Systems Poland Sp. z o.o., that also is authorized to gain access to the cookies.

Cookie files are used for the following:

  • Adjusting the contents of our Website to the User’s preferences and optimizing the use of the Website; in particular the files enable us to recognize the Website User’s device and display the Website that is fit to the User’s individual needs accordingly;
  • Generating statistics that enable us to understand how the Website Users use the Website, which enables us to improve the Website structure and contents;
  • Running the Website User’s session, owing to which the Website User does not need to log in and type in the password again and again to gain access to functions to which logging in is required;

Two major types of cookies are used on our Website:

  • Session cookies – temporary files that are saved on the User’s terminal device until the User logs out, leaves the Website or closes their software (web browser),
  • Persistent cookies – cookie files stored on the User’s terminal device over a period that is defined in cookie file parameters or until they are deleted by the User.

The following types of cookie files are used on our Website:

  • ”Indispensable” cookies that enable the User to use services available on the Website, e.g. authentication cookie files that are used for the services that require authentication while certain Website pages are visited;
  • Security cookie files that are used for ensuring safety; they are used for detecting Website authentication abuses;
  • ”Efficiency” cookie files that enable us to collect the information on what our Website users are;
  • ”Functional” cookie files that allow the User-chosen settings to be saved and the user interface to be personalized, e.g. by selecting the language or the region the User comes from, the font size, the Website appearance, etc.;
  • ”Advert” cookie files, owing to which our Users can be provided with advertisements that are more adjusted to their interests.

Modifying cookie file settings

The software used for browsing websites (web browsers) allow for storing cookie files on the User’s device by default in many cases. Our Website Users can modify cookie settings at any time. The settings can be changed in particular in order to disable automatic handling of cookie files via the web browser settings or to inform the User each time cookie files are saved on the Website User device. The detailed information on the possibilities and ways of handling cookie files is given in the settings of the software (web browser) the Website User uses.
